The 918 spyder mid engined hybrid hypercar. With its two engines working together they develops 887bhp. The car weighs 1640 and designed by porsche. 918 units are to be made by the end of 2015.
The mclaren p1 concept car was debuted at the 2012 paris motor show, the final prodution version was unvaled at the 2013 geneva motor show. 375 units were sold by november 2013. The p1 is a mid engined rear wheel drive hypercar.
A fun thing about this car is that Ferrari LaFerrari in Italian is Ferrari the Ferrari. This is the most powerful Ferrari production car ever made. 499 units were made. Only three days after its debut at the 2013 Geneva motor show over 1000 offers had been made for purchase.

Un like most super cars the 918 has its exhausts mounted on top instead of at the back. This is because it improves aerodynamics and reduces backpressure.
As the name implies the car is a spyder, which means that the roof can be removed. on the 918 the roof removes in two separate parts. They can be place in the front boot of the car.
The 918 has its mind set on both the past and the future. It very much resembles the 5.7-liter, 558bhp v10 Carrera Gt, but while still keeping its eyes firmly on the future.
The 918 has a optional package called the Weissach package. This offers what Porsche call "a more performance orientated finish." this extra package will cost $60,000 on top of the $847k. Despite the extra price 25% of 918 buyers chose to add the weissach package. Included in the package you will get the roof, rear wing and windscreen frame left in an unpainted carbon weave, plus there’s the option of sticker packs. The weissach is 41kg lighter than the base modle.
Like the P1 the LaFerari is very light. Its uses four different types of carbon fiber to keep it as light as possible. Its lighter than both the McLaren P1 and the Porsche 918 spyder. One of the first things you will notice when you look at the LaFerrari are the wing mirrors. The mirrors acre extended 25cm from the main body on carbon fiber stalks.
The Ferrari looks rather small but looks can be deceiving. Its actually longer and wider than the p1 and the 918, but shorter than both. Its dimensions are: 4.7 meters long, 1.9 meters wide and 1.1 meters tall.
Unlike most cars rear wing, the LaFerrari is completely invisible when retracted. It hides in the black line at the rear and along the sides of the vehicle.
Ferrari says "Nowhere is the car’s extreme, sporty character more evident than in its tail section where its muscular power is uncompromisingly revealed." with its huge quad exhausts, and the enormous rear diffuser which is made of carbon fiber. The LaFerrari is what a Hypercar should look like.
The McLaren P1s exterior was designed to be agile, light weight and eye catching. The P1 has a very futuristic design. The P1s headlights mirror McLaren logo.
The P1 has an enormous rear wing that at a certain speed is lowered down because the weight of the air passing over the car would be so big it would break the suspension.
The wheels are made of military grade aluminum, the break disks are made of something that has only been used in the Arian space program and there coated with something called silicon carbite, apparently it’s the hardest surface on earth.
The glass is only 3.5mm thick that 1.5 mm, accept in the back windows, where there’s no glass at all. No lacer is added to the carbon fiber trim to save 1.5 kg. The whole shassy weighs less that a fully-grown man. The body is made from just five panels, which means less glue, and fewer bolts are needed to hold it all together. This means that despite the fact it has two engines, this car weighs less than a Vauxhall Astra.

Located on the leather steering wheel of the 918 is you telephone and media controls as well as the dial your track mode, race settings etc. The 918 also houses satellite navigation just like the p1.
The 918s center console is a full touch sensitive panel. It controls things like the air con, radio, Bluetooth settings and the satellite navigation. But it also houses some special features like a calendar and the ability to install apps. Carbon fiber is used throughout the cockpit, as well matte carbon to reduce reflections. Unlike the p1 the 918 has electric seats.
The interior in the LaFerrari is decked from wall to wall in carbon fiber and leather. The seats in the LaFerrari are a bit different to the other cars. The seats are part of the carbon fiber tub. So you feel everything that the car feels. Also the seats do not move. If you want to adjust the car to your height than you will need to move the steering wheel the and the pedals forward or back.
The LaFerrari has a usb port that you can use for your iPod/smart phone for music. But is can also be used for a usb stick which will save all your track information.
The McLaren P1s interior continues with the lightness idea. There is no carpet and no glove box. The cabin in the p1 is designed with full focus on the driver. Used across the dashboard, floor, doors, steering wheel, rockers and center console is a non-lacquered carbon fiber.
The seats feature fixings for six-point racing harnesses, and are mounted on lightweight brackets and runners allowing them to be individually adjusted for height per customer.
The car also offers climate control, satellite navigation and a specially developed meridian sound system

E N G I N E
Like the P1 the 918 has more than one engine but unlike the P1 it has two electric motors that produce 279bhp combined. One 154bhp electric motor drives the rear wheels parallel with the engine. The front 125bhp motor directly drives the front axel.
These are accompanied by a 608bhp 4.6-liter 135kg V8. All these combined the 918 has 887bhp, 1,275nm of torque that can achieve 0-60 in just 2.6sec and a top speed of 340km.
Just like both other cars the LaFerrari has both a petrol engine and electric motor. The petrol engine is a mid/rear mounted Ferrari f140 engine. The f140 is 789bhp 6.3-Liter v12 created by Ferrari
The LaFerrari as I said has an eclectic motor. This produces 160bhp. Which provides extra power boosts. These two engines create 370km top speed and over 660nm of torque. This car can achieve 0-60 in under 3sec.
As I said before the p1 has two engines, like the other cars. The p1 features the same twin turbocharged 3.8-liter v8 petrol engine as the mp4-12c. This produces 727bhp and 719nm of torque at 7500rpm.
It also features an electric motor made by McLaren. This produces 176bhp. Together with the petrol and the electric motor the p1 has 903bhp, 978nm of torque, will be able to reach 0-60 in2.8sec and a top speed of 349km.
